ZITE: A PECORINO WINE FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS

Each wine has its own story and that of Zite is one of the most interesting to tell. It is made from Pecorino grapes, one of the most characteristic grape varieties of Abruzzo, traditionally linked to the practice of transhumance. Since ancient times, its rows have been flanked by flocks of sheep during their continuous passage.

But Pecorino is also a wine with many nuances, playing a special role in the customs and practices of Abruzzo. Fragrant and refined, it has excellent structure and persistency. An ideal aperitif, it has always been a wine for weddings. Pecorino wine enlivens a special festive occasion, when ‘zite’ fulfil their dream of love. In the Abruzzo dialect, ‘zite’ means beautiful girls awaiting marriage.

This Terra d’Aligi wine is dedicated to them. An excellent white wine in our line of high-end wines, it is made from selected grapes and refined according to the best timing and techniques depending on their characteristics, which, as their name suggests, express their close bond with the land and the traditions of Abruzzo.
